"Every community has been impacted by suicide in some way. I personally lost one of my closest friends. As painful and unexplainable as it may be, the best way to heal and prevent this from happening in the future is through community and unity. SRSAP is an amazing opportunity to discuss and benefit both physical health and mental health while dedicated to an impactful cause." - Barry

"Suicide impacts everyone, the people we know and love, family, complete strangers, and the world as a whole. With suicide on the rise, it's paramount we do our best to promote and develop community, emphasize the importance of mental health, and reaffirm that those who battle with depression are not alone. You are loved." - Wyatt.

Whit Stahl

Treasurer

Whit Stahl is a soon to be graduate of the University of Virginia pursuing concentrations in Finance and Information Technology through the McIntire School of Commerce. In his free time, Whit enjoys playing tennis, spending time with friends and family, and listening to podcasts.

Whit was inspired to help lead SRSAP because of the direct impact suicide has had on the lives of his college roommates. SRSAP aims to bring community members closer together through student runs, both to honor and commemorate the lives of those lost, while also raising awareness to more effectively prevent suicide. Here’s how you can start small - spontaneously check in on your friends, take an interest in how a random person’s day is going, be kind. Seemingly trivial acts of kindness and thoughtfulness can have an outsized impact in fighting this epidemic.

Radley Weigler

Radley is a senior at Indiana University where she studies Counseling Psychology and Public Health. She plans on becoming a mental health counselor and working in schools. Mental health advocacy is her passion, which has led her to SRSAP. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, concerts, skiing and trying new restaurants.

"Mental health is nothing to be ashamed of and advocating for it is something to take pride in. Having a sense of community reminds us why we are here and how loved we are. Being a friend and taking the time to listen may save the life of someone you didn't know was struggling. Mental health matters and its future is in our hands." - Radley
